A meeting of the Peace for Business Committee was held in Sylhet’s Hotel Valley Garden. The meeting was presided over by Shabir Ahmed, President, Convening Committee Business for Peace.
Among the advisers of the conference committee were Syed Mizabauddin, Councilor Sylhet City Corporation, Advocate Irfanuzzaman Chowdhury, President TIB, Sylhet.
Among the political figures present at the meeting of Peace for Business Committee- Saifuddin Khaleque, Joint Convener, Iftekhar Hossain Shamim, Senior Joint Convener, BNP- Shamim Ahmad, Organizing Secretary and Abul Kashem, organizing secretary, from JSD- Alauddin Ahmed Pearl, Joint Secretary, District Jasd and Chowdhury Amirul Islam Yahya, Member of the city Jasad, Mohammad Ali from Awami League Dulal, organizing secretary, district Awami League and veteran freedom fighter Abdul Khalek, vice president of city Awami League
The meeting decided to set up a “Peace Center” in Sylhet by publishing businessmen, political leaders and common people in solidarity to create a business friendly environment in Sylhet.
In addition to the members of the Peace For Business Convention Committee, Ziaul Haque, Humayun Islam-Kamal, Dr. M Shahidul Elam, Gourong Patra, Naznin Hossain, Shahnara Begum, Indrani Sen and other stake holders were present.
Meanwhile, at the start of the meeting KMAK Azad, executive director, AWARD discussed the activities implemented by Saferworld UK and the work done in the future. The meeting was moderated by Runa Begum, general secretary of the Peace for Business Convening Committee and Syed Sujad Ali, executive editor of the daily Kaziar Bazar.
